With Memorial Day weekend finally here, it’s time to spend more hours by the water and less time indoors! Replace your indoor activity with the ideal summer fitness class: standup paddleboarding (SUP). Team Green is heating things up and challenging you to try our latest adventure. We’re all looking for more ways to enjoy summer, and SUP is a combination of exercise, stress-relief, extreme sport and simply taking in the beauty of our natural surroundings.


Full-Body Fitness

While using your core to stay balanced on the board, you also perform a full-body motion to glide through the water. Toning your muscles from your upper body to your legs, paddleboarding is the perfect workout for building strength. Using your whole body for an extended period of time will also improve your endurance. You’ll be out of breath by the time you’re done, but you won’t even notice because this sport is so social.

You may burn more calories laughing…

Paddleboards are surprisingly stable, but acclimating to the feel of practically walking on water can take some time. Whether you fall in the water or stand frozen trying hard not to tip, this is a great sport to help you relax and laugh at yourself a little. If you really want to have a good time feeling silly, then paddleboard YOGA is even better!

Calling All Thrill-Seekers!

When it comes to adventure sports in Nashville, SUP is at the top of the list. If you are craving adventure or extreme sports, then paddleboarding will fulfill your expectations. Once you’ve mastered the basic skills of SUP, you can register for SUP races and other competitive paddleboard events. This is an adventure you can do your whole life and continually sharpen your practice. Paddleboarding will also help you overcome fears for other types of activities and empower you mentally.

Breathtaking Beauty

Sometimes SUP is just what you need for a peaceful getaway. You can just as easily make paddleboarding therapeutic as you can make it thrilling. Paddling slowly in the early morning or at sunset is a guaranteed calmer state of mind.

Join us Saturday, June 7th at 10 a.m. on Percy Priest Lake as we learn how to master the art of paddleboarding correctly. This beginner-friendly event will have you ready to try our upcoming paddleboard yoga events, or better enjoy our Paddleboard Sunset Paddle on Friday, July 25th at 6pm!

Our Paddleboard YOGA on June 29th is already nearly full, but no worries! There is another one scheduled for Sunday, August 17th at 10 a.m. with Nashville Paddle Company. No prior SUP or YOGA experience required for these events!
